SALAMANDER PRESENTS INNOVATIVE AND MODULAR INDUSTRY 4.0 IMPLEMENTATION APPROACH FOR HIGH PERFORMANCE PARTNERSHIP WITH WINDOW FABRICATORS
Salamander presents the innovative and modular Industry 4.0 implementation approach for the first time at fensterbau frontale. Not least, the functionalities on the website and on a mobile app of Salamander Industrie-Produkte GmbH (www.sip-windows.com), one of the leading European system providers and manufacturers of high-energy-saving uPVC quality window systems, are expanded consistently and in a process oriented manner.
For Salamander, the focus of the innovative and modular Industry 4.0 implementation approach is the high performance partnership with its window fabricators. The company relies on modules such as the newly programmed customer app “SIPortal” to make specific procedures even more efficient and high performance between the system provider and the fabricators in production and logistics. The previous connection of customers via Open Trans, during ordering and invoicing, will be further rolled out to accelerate the ordering process, combine requirements more efficiently, and reduce workload.
“SIPortal” includes a feedback system, which customers can use to evaluate the criteria of delivery, quality and service by awarding stars. The palette management system available in the app also impresses with its intelligent structure: After successfully scanning the palette label with a mobile user device, the content of the delivery is digitally recorded in seconds, and clearly listed. In addition, the customer can register the automatic collection of palettes without a great deal of effort. The delivery status can also be called up for every order, around the clock.
Not least, in future, customers can now also benefit from up to date company information from the systems supplier Salamander by app, which means a significant improvement in the area of communication between profile manufacturer and fabricator. The aim is to offer a new information platform via the solution to ensure important knowledge, and guarantee quick help in the case of problems.
Based on the operating systems iOS and Android, the app will be available free of charge in the course of the year, and in German for the first time. Anyone can view the content. However, registration is required to be able to access further company specific data. The modern and above all clear look guarantees high usability because the contemporary presentation in responsive design adjusts itself to the dimensions of the relevant device.
“We see a great deal of communication potential between our customers and Salamander as a system provider, which is why we are planning to further develop the “SIPortal”. In the next step, a further function should be built in, which enables quality feedback on the goods supplied.” reports Till Schmiedeknecht, CDO of Salamander.
It is also planned to introduce an online survey tool, which should lead to further optimisation of communication between Salamander and its fabricators, and guarantee even better supervision and satisfaction of the customers.
In future, Salamander will concentrate on developing an app especially for project customers, that Salamander customers can use to optimise coordination with their customers.
In the area of new website features, the Salamander download area now has a shiny new look to go with the modern website, and improved functional applications. The protected area that is exclusively available to Salamander window fabricators, dealers and architects is now based on a responsive solution. This allows the users to navigate through the download area easily with their mobile devices, as the design individually adjusts itself to the size of the smartphone or tablet. Apart from the user friendly application, the well thought out data distribution according to categories will make content search significantly easier, so that the user can get to his goal quickly, and download the desired data in just a few clicks.
