"International Day of Light"

Today, the "International Day of Light" proclaimed by UNESCO is celebrated for the fourth time. The focus on this day is particularly on the topics of light research, science and light-based technologies. At the same time, attention is drawn to how light literally "illuminates" the many areas of life.

Light is a very important factor for us at Salamander. Our myWindow approach with the C3 principle is the structured path to the optimal window project for interested building owners. Because not all windows are the same, there all different. Depending on location, orientation, climate conditions, architecture and many variables more, you need different window types. The myWindow app, which is currently being developed in-our company, combines all this information in an innovative and coherent way in the C3 principle, which stands for Climate, Case and Client. Climate contains the climatic conditions and local circumstances. Case is the object properties such as year of construction, type of building, living space, floors. Client includes the customer requirements with the individual choice of design and materiality and also topics such as optimization strategies for light and energy input as well as ecological factors such as insulation and recycling and, in addition, costs.

At our headquarters in Türkheim/Unterallgäu, we show in our showroom how the light through a window changes throughout the day in different cities, at different seasons. In addition, visitors can touch and thus experience various window profiles and their different surfaces.
