SALAMANDER Window & Door Systems wins TOP 100 Innovation Award
In this year's TOP 100 competition, Salamander Window & Door Systems convinced the jury as a think tank and was awarded the coveted 2022 seal for innovation. With its myWindow_ strategy, Salamander defines the window as a tangible, desirable and sustainable design product and sees it as a link between a valuable building façade and sophisticated interior design. Only a few and particularly innovative medium-sized companies are awarded this innovation prize. On 24 June, Salamander will also be personally honoured for these achievements by the competition's mentor, science journalist Ranga Yogeshwar.
Türkheim, 24 February 2022. Salamander has come into the focus of the TOP 100 innovation competition due to extensive development and investment programmes in recent years and was able to successfully assert itself within the framework of a scientific selection process, which every participant has to undergo.
This much can be said about the background to the award: on behalf of TOP 100/compamedia, the organiser of the comparison, innovation researcher Prof. Dr. Nikolaus Franke and his team examined Salamander Window & Door Systems using more than 100 innovation indicators from five categories: Top Management Promoting Innovation, Innovation Climate, Innovative Processes and Organisation, External Orientation/Open Innovation and Innovation Success. Basically, the TOP 100 analysis is about the question of whether a company's innovations are just a product of chance or are systematically planned and thus repeatable in the future. Special weighting is given to the question of whether and how innovations and product improvements succeed on the market. "To what extent is a company oriented towards innovation? How consistently do its structures follow this goal? With TOP 100 we examine this," explains Prof. Dr. Nikolaus Franke, the scientific director of TOP 100. "The most innovative medium-sized companies receive the seal. It shows that they are excellently equipped for future challenges."
Salamander Window & Door Systems sees itself as a traditional company with a start-up character. As part of its "S500" strategy programme, the Salamander Group is pursuing a design- & quality-leading, sustainable growth and innovation strategy. In this context, innovation work represents an important building block for the future viability of the company and in order to offer window solutions that are in line with the market. Salamander does not see the window as a purely technical product, but as a connecting element between building façade and interior design. With light, heat input, view, ventilation and surfaces that can be experienced, the window determines the individual quality of living. The window is also the design-determining element of the façade and must fulfil ecological, technical and safety-relevant criteria. All these requirements cannot be met with a standard, but require intelligent, innovative solutions that are configured according to the specific situation, the characteristics of the building, the architecture and individual preferences. Salamander's specially developed consulting model, the C3 principle, is used to find the window that meets the customer's requirements and is ideally suited to the residential property. The factors Climate (climatic conditions and local circumstances), Case (property characteristics) and Client (customer demands) are decisive in determining whether the window choice fits the building and the external influences. The product quintessence for this is greenEvolution, the sustainable, flexible and digital platform for individual window solutions. "With innovations, quality, function and design, we continue to write Salamander's success story and bring the tradition to forward-looking ways. Therefore, it is always a great success when our commitment is honoured, especially with this special innovation award. We are therefore particularly proud of this team achievement and are very much looking forward to being honoured by Ranga Yogeshwar in June in Frankfurt am Main," emphasise the two co-CEOs Götz and Till Schmiedeknecht of the family-run group of companies.
